Only open for 4 months, this place feels like a well-settled classic. They describe themselves as a cross between a French bistro and an American diner. And while those references are present, the friendly Mancunian service delightfully grounds their offering.

Jay Rayner hit the proverbial nail on the head when he said of Medlock, 'Dishes that are the best versions of themselves.'

The turkey schnitzel, duck egg, caper salsa verde, and house-butchered steak were a refined delight. Not sure, but we think they do something special with their French fries. Lip-smackingly good.
