Sitting at the counter offers a great chance to get up close and personal with the cooking process. The team was happy to answer all our (slightly annoying) cookery questions. Plus, you get wafts of heat from the open flames and the scent of herbs and spices.
You get a real sense of Thailand here—in a modern way, without the pastiche of a theme restaurant. It took us back to the place we love, minus the 12-hour flight.
